Part 4: How to Develop a Conqueror’s Mindset as an Artist

Hi everyone welcome back to another week on the Chrissie Murphy Designs blog. This is the final blog post in my series about How to Develop a Conqueror’s Mindset as an Artist.  I know, I know… sadness. But! It’s never too late to jump in. All four parts are available on the blog, so you can begin this course at any time, just search for Part 1 to kick off.

Part 4 of How to Develop a Conqueror’s Mindset as an Artist This is the final post in a four part series on How to Develop a Conqueror’s Mindset as an Artist

Let’s recap what we’ve covered so far in this series;

Part One

In Part One you learned what Gods plan and purpose for your life could look like. You searched for His promises and found some that really connected with you. Then you broke them down, putting them into a paragraph that you spoke over yourself daily. This is your foundational truth, there’s more about this in today’s post.

Part Two

In Part Two you identified your hopes, aspirations and the deep desires of your heart, when it comes to your dreams and vision as an artist. You worked out what you were prepared to battle for.

Part Three

Keeping these hopes, aspirations and desires in mind, in Part Three you began to understand how the enemy works against you. As an artist, the enemy (called Resistance) works hard to prevent you from achieving your hopes, aspirations and deep desires. It works to tirelessly to keep you in a state of spiritual darkness.

But What about the Final Part – Part Four?

Well, now you are ready to develop your battle plan and start fighting. Believe it or not, over the last four week’s your mindset has been changing, you have been developing a Conqueror’s Mindset. It may not feel like it, but as you saddle up, getting ready to ride into battle, your confidence will be higher than it’s ever been before.

No good soldier ever heads into battle without having some sort of a plan worked out. Last week you spent some time spying on the enemy, trying to understand the other ways Resistance is working in your life. Keeping those things you’ve learned at the forefront of your mind, it’s time to formulate your battle plan.

Making Your Battle Plan

You’ve been working to develop a Conquerors Mindset, and it’s now that you finally begin to see it in action. Your Battle Plan should be focused on conquering the enemy, at all costs!  Because you have prepared yourself well, because you know what God’s plan and purpose for your life looks like, because you have defined your reason for fighting (your hopes, aspirations and desires), because you understand the strategies of the enemy, you have developed a Conqueror’s Mindset. Let me put it this way, now that you know the things you do, do you feel like a pushover? I’m betting you don’t.

Quote by Chrissie Murphy Designs about having a Conqueror’s Mindset
You better believe it! You have developed a Conqueror’s Mindset!

Your Battle Plan is to fight the Lies of the enemy, with the Truth.

John 8:32 says that, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

As you focus on achieving one of your hopes or aspirations, you can know that your hopes and aspirations are part of God’s bigger plan for your life. You can know this, because you did the homework a few weeks ago. His promises underpin our hopes and aspirations, that’s why we identified them first.

Foundations Come First

The homework you completed was foundational, because the things you learned are the foundational truths you are going to stand upon in battle. What do I mean? Let me try and show you.

It’s Time to Fight

Let’s imagine for a moment that Resistance has attacked me with a case of Imposter Syndrome.  I hit back with my promises from God, the truth.

It might look like this:

Resistance says, “What gives you the right to speak or teach about that?

I reply with the foundational truth I’ve come to know.

The Lord has given me different gifts that I can use throughout my life to do certain things well. He will never revoke the gifts and calling I believe I have, and throughout my life I can go on to do ALL things through Christ, who gives me strength.

And Resistance is silenced.

It works for every attack the enemy launches. Let’s imagine that this time Resistance hits me with the h-bomb, Artist’s Block! It’s got me blocked from creating, blocked from finding inspiration, it’s got me surrounded on all sides, blocked off completely from creativity. I strike back with my foundational truth….

The Lord has given me different gifts that I can use throughout my life to do certain things well. He will never revoke the gifts and calling I believe I have, and throughout my life I can go on to do ALL things through Christ, who gives me strength.

In bigger battles, ones that last longer or are more intense than others, you might need to strike back with your promises from God (your foundational truths) over and over and over again. You’ve got to keep striking, you’ve got to keep standing your ground until Resistance is silenced.

Conqueror's Mindset - Are you ready to conquer?
Are you ready to conquer? It’s time to formulate a Battle Plan!

Can Resistance Ever Win?

Put it this way, your foundational truth is what drives your Conqueror’s Mindset. If you, for even a second, begin to doubt your foundational truth, Resistance will win. It’s as simple as that.

What happens if Resistance does win?

Well, what happens in any other battle? You retreat and you go back to the drawing board. You review the battle, you look at where you were weak, where there were cracks that the enemy took advantage of. Then you set about fixing them.

It might mean you need another month of speaking God’s promises over yourself, so you come to believe, even more strongly, your foundational truth. It might mean reviewing the hopes, aspirations and desires you have, maybe you should be fighting for another one first, the order of attack could be wrong.

What it doesn’t mean is packing up and going home.

What do I mean by going home? It’s when you head to where you feel safe, where you’re comfortable. It’s the place you can just chill out at. While this is a great place to hang when you want to relax, you don’t achieve things here. You only achieve things by heading outside into the big wide world, where you have to battle and fight.

You have a Conqueror’s Mindset

Yep, that’s right, you do and I hope you believe it! As a Conqueror, you never pack up and head home until you have the victory. Jesus said it best, when he said that “you shall know the truth and it shall set you free”.

When you know your foundational truth unequivocally, when it’s rooted deep in your heart, you will find freedom and you will have victory. This truth is what defeats the enemy, and when the enemy is defeated, you begin to walk in the purposes and plans God has for you as an Artist. You begin to thrive, because you’re no longer bound by the lies of Resistance.

What’s the deep desires on my heart?

It’s this right here! Man, I want this for you, I want you to know it, to live it, to love it and to believe it. This is the desire on my heart, that you would be walking in freedom, thriving in the purposes and plans of God and doing it all with a Conqueror’s Mindset. And when you do, I’m gonna sit back in my deck chair and watch you soar.
