Hi, Iโm Chrissie โ a mixed media artist based in Australia.
I work mostly with pen, watercolour, and layered details inspired by Zentangleยฎ and pattern-based design.
Iโm also a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and hold a Diploma of Visual Arts specialising in paintingโฆ which sounds very official, but most days still involve a lot of โletโs just see what happens if I try this.โ
How I Work
Most pieces begin without a big plan โ just a starting point like a line, a shape, a grid or a pattern.
From there, the work builds slowly, layer by layer, usually in small pockets of time across days and sometimes even weeks.
(But more often than not, with a quiet moment of โwhy did I start this?โ followed by โoh yeah Chrissie! Thatโs why.โ)

A Bit of a Shift
My work has changed over time.
For a while, I focused on learning, developing skills, and sharing that process with others. But recently, things have become much simpler.
Now, I create for the sake of creating.
What Matters Now
What Iโm really interested is what a piece can give you.
A moment of beauty. A bit of delight.
Something that makes you pause and think, โthatโs nice,โ before heading on with your day.
This Space
This space reflects that intention.
You wonโt find tutorials or instructions here. Instead, itโs simply a place to pause, to look, and to take a small break from everything else.
No pressure. No need to figure anything out.
You can justโฆ be here for a minute. If you’d like to see more, you can wander through my gallery or spend some time on the blog.
If You Leave With Something
If you leave feeling even slightly lighter, happier, or just a little more settled than when you arrivedโฆ
then thatโs exactly what I hoped for.
