Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. Next up in my blog post series that’s looking back at the the year, is a post about Tangle Index Time 2022! This was a new event for me this year and I’m so happy with how it’s gone. Let’s get into it so I can fill you in on everything that’s happened this year.
What is Tangle Index Time?
On social media I’ve shared pics and posts about working on my Tangle Index quite regularly. When I do, I always receive lots of comments and messages about it. The main theme of the messages is “I would love to own a tangle index but I struggle to find the time”.
This (in a nutshell) is what the Tangle Index Time Zoom Events are all about. If you’ve been wanting to work on a Tangle Index and have been struggling to find the time to do so, then these events are for you!
Happening each week, these one hour live events are a place where we meet and work on our Tangle Indexes together.
A quick summary of Tangle Index Time 2022
Tangle Index Time started on 6 June, 2022. In its early stages it alternated between the Facebook and Instagram Live platforms. This worked ok, but I started to experience issues with screen recording.
I wasn’t able to record the Facebook Live sessions and even though I could record with Instagram, I continued to face issues with background noise.
In November, I moved to Zoom. This was a really good decision because I can screen record every session and not have to worry about background sound. Although I had some beginners navigation problems, I’ve settled in to a rhythm that’s working well.
Now for some cool statistical stuff around Tangle Index Time 2022
At the end of 2022, we have had 16 sessions of Tangle Index Time. This means we’ve created 112 tangles for our indexes. I think this is a great little achievement considering all we’re doing is dedicating one hour a week. They start to add up after a while.
We’ve even added 14 Christmas themed patterns to our indexes. I think this was a great way to finish the year.
Reaching the end of the Tangle Index Time 2022, how do I feel?
When it began in June, I can remember feeling nervous before each session. I was worried I’d forget things. I was frightened I wouldn’t see everyone’s comments, and I would struggle to finish 7 tiles in an hour.
Now I know what I can and can’t do. I made myself a run sheet and it guides me through every session. Moving to Zoom helped me to keep on top of comments (it’s just chat now) and I am consistently getting through the 7 tiles in around an hour.
I’m feeling confident about it’s future and I’m looking forward to introducing a few small enhancements in 2023.
