Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. This week’s Magnified Fragment is A14. So without further ado, let’s get into it, have a look at the enhancer we’ll be using. I’ve also included links to some resources you might find helpful for this week.
This Week’s Magnified Fragment is A14
Here’s a quick sketch of what the fragment looks like as a reference for you.
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to Monotangle
This is another one of those enhancers that I can’t believe we haven’t visited yet. So what’s Monotangling you ask? Monotangling is where you use only one tangle pattern only for an entire tile.
I really enjoy Monotangling. I’ve found that I keep coming back to it over and over as a technique. For this weeks fragment, I’ll be Monotangling with Garlic Cloves by Jacquelien Bredenoord.
Some resources to help you with this week’s Magnified Fragment
I’m going to share some examples of my own Monotangling this week hopefully it should help you understand what we’re doing.
Here’s a monotangle I completed using Wheelz by Joyce Block, CZT
I completed this Monotangle of Sandswirl by Karry Huen for World IBD day in 2021
Most recently I’ve been making my way through the Zentangle Primer. We’re diving in deep with patterns in Lesson 6, and as I learn all about each pattern, I’ve been trying to monotangle them.
This one is Flux
Here is Nzeppel
And here is Rixty
I think you get the idea. Use one pattern only for the entire tile. I can’t wait to see which pattern you choose.
If you have any ideas for an enhancer in Part 2 of the Project, leave me a comment and we’ll feature them in upcoming fragments.
Now is the perfect time to join us, the more the merrier. Just tag your tile with #MagnifiedFragments and I’ll see it, share it and add it to our gallery.
