Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. This week’s Magnified Fragment is G5. So without further ado, let’s get into it and have a look at the enhancer we’ll be using. I’ve also included links to some resources you might find helpful for this week.
This Week’s Magnified Fragment is G5
Here’s a quick sketch of what the fragment looks like as a reference for you.
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to use No Ink!
This weeks enhancer is not really an enhancer, but a different way of tangling. When you work on G5 this week, use no ink. Use whatever other mediums you have on hand instead.
This enhancer idea of using “less ink” (that I’ve changed to “No ink”) was also suggested to us by Rashim Bhargava, CZT. I was so up for this challenge! It had me thinking about how I could use the supplies I own in a different way.
I used Pentel Fudenosuke Brush markers, coloured pencils, coffee and watercolour markers to work on mine. I found it challenging to use coloured pencils to create the crisp linework I like to see.
But overall, I’m very happy with the end result which you’ll see on Sunday. It’s soft and really showcases some beautiful blends.
Some examples to help you with this week’s Magnified Fragment
I have some examples from other tangly artists to share with you.
Our very own Magnified Fragment creator Isabel Wallis recently completed a tile using zero ink. Isabel used crayons, graphite and colours that suited her chosen palette.
Catherine McKittrick CZT, also plays with different mediums for tangling quite often. Check out the way Catherine has tangled with paint in this post. Not a bit of ink to be seen.
And one more example of a piece completed by Angel Lettering on Instagram – no ink here either.
If you have any ideas for an enhancer, leave me a comment and we’ll feature them in upcoming fragments.
It’s never to late to join in, the more the merrier. Just tag your tile with #MagnifiedFragments and I’ll see it, share it and add it to our gallery.
