Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. This week’s Magnified Fragment is E3. So without further ado, let’s get into it and have a look at the enhancer we’ll be using. I’ve also included links to some resources you might find helpful for this week.
This Week’s Magnified Fragment is E3
Here’s a quick sketch of what the fragment looks like as a reference for you.
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to Change the Pen
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to “Change the Pen”.
This idea was suggested by Catherine McKittrick – @TheTangledArtistCZT and is based on a game called ‘Please Pass the Pen’ by Zentangle. Zentangle created a video to share this game (it’s below) and in it were Molly Hollibaugh and two children.
As they filled a section of a tile they “passed the pen” along to the next person in the group. By the end, they were each left with a multi-coloured tile.
We will adapt this idea slightly to accommodate for working alone. As you fill a section, or tangle a component of your tile, change the pen and do the next section or component in a different colour. Thanks for this great idea Catherine.
Some resources to help you with this week’s Magnified Fragment
Have a look at the original “Please Pass the Pen” game we are basing this week’s enhancer on. If you are tangling your Magnified Fragment in a group, then why not pass the pen. But if you aren’t, then let’s change the pen instead.
Aishwarya Darbha, CZT (aka @tangleandinspire) shares a post where she played the game with her children.
Miiko Hirai shares her tile. It looks like Miiko may have tangled her tile alone and changed the pen (like we’ll do)
And Deb Bowyer (aka @DebsAccidentalArt) shares her tile where she worked alone. Here it is.
If you have any ideas for an enhancer, leave me a comment and we’ll feature them in upcoming fragments.
It’s never to late to join in, the more the merrier. Just tag your tile with #MagnifiedFragments and I’ll see it, share it and add it to our gallery.
