Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. This week’s Magnified Fragment is D5. So without further ado, let’s get into it and have a look at the enhancer we’ll be using. I’ve also included links to some resources you might find helpful for this week.
This Week’s Magnified Fragment is D5
Here’s a quick sketch of what the fragment looks like as a reference for you.
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to use the Lace Technique
This week’s Magnified Fragment Enhancer is to use the Lace Technique. It was suggested by Aida Rico, CZT. Thanks so much for this suggestion Aida 💖
I’m not sure who developed this technique, but it’s quite simple in that white ink is used to create patterns that mimic the effect of lace on a tile.
Some resources to help you with this week’s Magnified Fragment
I watched a video tutorial by Apple Lim, CZT on the technique before attempting mine. A link to Apple’s YouTube video is here.
Apple also has some classes on the lace technique here.
Laurel Storey also offers a class on the lace technique. It’s available here.
And lastly, Eni Oken also offers a class on the lace technique here.
Hopefully this gives you a good idea of the technique we’ll be using.
If you have any ideas for an enhancer, leave me a comment and we’ll feature them in upcoming fragments.
It’s never to late to join in, the more the merrier. Just tag your tile with #MagnifiedFragments and I’ll see it, share it and add it to our gallery.
