I am open for Commissions!

Hi and welcome back to the Chrissie Murphy Designs Blog. Yes I know, things have been quiet on the blog front…. 2020 has taken a while for me to unpack, but today I’m finally able to share why. I’d like to tell you about this 👇👇 A recent commission called “You are Sunshine”. Yes, that’s right, I am open for commissions!

This year I have decided to start taking on commissioned work!!!

And by that I mean work that is customised for someone else. I’ve been on the business end of a pen for quite a few years now, and only recently have I felt like I have cemented my “style”. It’s a good feeling, but what do I do with it?

Well, I’ve created enough art now that people know what I do. I’m not a portrait artist, I’m not a landscape artist, I’m a zentangle artist who loves adding words to pieces. So I’ve decided that this is my year (not Corona’s) and I’m finally ready to dive in and do commissioned work. I am open for commissions!

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to my first commission…

“You are Sunshine”

This piece was commissioned by a friend who wanted something special to give her friend as a gift. “You are Sunshine” measures 148 x 210mm.

It’s a mixed media piece that uses lots of warm toned watercolour, ink and coloured pencils. The piece is embedded with positivity, and layered with sunflowers and sunshine throughout.

I used techniques of stamping, layered stencilling and masking to add extra depth and convey some of the deeper meaning desired by my friend who commissioned it.

The picture below shows it finished and mounted as ready to frame.

And lastly, my favourite picture! Here it is with Samantha. This picture just makes my heart smile 😍 Nothing makes me happier than seeing art loved. Doesn’t Samantha look beautiful with it!

Are you after a customised piece of art too?

The Lord created the Heavens and the Earth in six days through the power of words. What He believed and what He spoke was manifested. He physically changed the atmosphere. Earth, with all its flora, fauna and mankind was created as the Lord spoke the words “Let there be…”.

I believe in the power of art to create and change atmospheres too, because what we speak and what we believe manifests. It’s like that saying,

“As a man thinketh, so is he”

Unknown

What we think and say has power to change the atmosphere around us, and it can do so both negatively and positively.

I think there is no greater gift than something that’s been specifically designed with that in mind. If your heart is FOR someone, you will want to see them prosper, thrive and flourish. So why not speak positivity and destiny for them and help to change the atmosphere around them with art?

And if not for a friend, what about yourself?

Is there something you’re battling and you need change in? Is there something you’re hoping for, a desire you wish to see come to fruition? What do you want to declare over yourself? Let’s speak and believe for it with art.

Every piece I create has the things you’re speaking and believing for embedded into its foundations. Next, I add and build, layer by layer, until the entire piece is saturated. By the end, you will feel connected and full of hope.

I am open for commissions and I am ready to create something you will truly connect with! You can use the link below to contact me.
