Day 10 of Inktober 2026 ✍️

Today's prompt is Floatfest by Carole Ohl CZT, but I couldn't resist bringing in a little Molygon by Zentangle Inc. too! 😄

Sometimes two tangles just seem to belong together, and I thought these two would make a lovely pairing. ❤️

Ten days down, and I'm really enjoying seeing how each new prompt takes me in a different direction.

This little original is $15 AUD + postage and is available to claim from my Inktober 2026 Pop-Up Shop. You'll find the link in Linktree in my bio ⏫️

Riverfest is on today! 🎉 With @eskimojoemusic great food, good company and fireworks over the Johnstone River, Innisfail is definitely the place to be! 😃

If you're heading into town, why not pop into Vinnies and have a wander through the Art for Art Sake exhibition? There are so many wonderful pieces by local artists, and it's such a lovely way to discover and support the creative talent we have here on the Cassowary Coast.

You'll find my little display just inside the front doors, on the right. I've created a collection of vintage-inspired tiles and tags, bringing back some nostalgia for yesteryear with plenty of details to discover. 💛

And if you happen to take home a little piece of my art, I'd love to see where it ends up — tag me in a photo!

✨ The exhibition runs until 17 October at Vinnies, Innisfail.

Enjoy Riverfest, everyone! ❤️

I had fun playing with all the little shapes in this one and bringing them to life with colour. I love how the bright greens, blues, purples and oranges work together against the black tag. 🌈

Today’s tag features Aiposaat by Zentangle Inc.

This one is a little more restrained than some of the tags I've created so far — I pretty much stuck to the pattern and let those lovely geometric shapes do the work.

And I think that's part of the fun of Inktober… some days I can go completely off on a tangent, and other days I just enjoy letting the tangle speak for itself. 😊

We have a theme! 🌿🌸

You voted, and the winning prompt for our Instagram Live is…

🌿 PLANTS & FLOWERS 🌸

But there’s a twist…

For this one, Nicole and I are putting away our usual art supplies and challenging ourselves to create using kids’ art supplies only. Think crayons, felt pens and coloured pencils! 😂

We’ll be drawing the same prompt, but we don't really know what each other will be doing until the Insta Live. We’ll chat, draw, laugh, probably make a few questionable artistic decisions… and see where our two very different styles take us.

Swipe through to see how it will work and when to join us. 👆

💜 Friday 16 October, 7pm EDT
💜 Saturday 17 October, 9am AEST
📍 Live on Instagram

Come and hang out with us — and if you feel like drawing along with your own kids’ art supplies, even better!

Two artists. One prompt. Different hands.
We can't wait! 😁👭

🌟 Today’s prompt is Star Aniz by Carla Jooren CZT.

I definitely took a few liberties with this one! 😂 Sometimes a tangle just seems to say “Nope, we're going this way…” and you have to go along for the ride.

So this is my take on Star Aniz — colourful and a little cut down. 💙💚💜💛

And that's one of the things I love about tangling. You start with a pattern, then see where it takes you.

✨ Art for Art Sake is open! ✨

Yesterday was such a lovely and unusual art opening.

🥂 Rather than the traditional speeches, bubbly and cheese, people wandered into Vinnies, browsed the artwork and shopped for little treasures. I loved it! 🤗
There is an amazing collection of work from artists right across the Cassowary Coast, and I'm so happy to be part of it.

A huge thank you to Bernard Jungle Trader for organising and curating the exhibition, and to Dixie at Vinnies for working so hard to make the whole thing happen. And yes, the fabulous dress made from cards is Dixie's work! ❤️ scroll through to see it 🙌

I'm thrilled with how my display turned out, right at the front entrance — and especially grateful to the amazing women who purchased some of my work yesterday 💕 It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that little pieces I've made are heading off to new homes.

Art for Art Sake runs until 17 October at Vinnies, Innisfail.

If you're on the Cassowary Coast, pop in and have a browse. You never know the little treasure you might find. 💛

Today’s tag is my take on Girlande by Simone Bischoff 😃

I spent today surrounded by other artists and their work at the Art for Art Sake Exhibition, and it got me thinking about something I’ve really been enjoying about this Inktober project 🤔

There is something pretty special about making things by hand 🙌

In a world where so much of what we buy is mass produced, I love the idea of creating something that has been drawn, coloured and finished by one person — sitting at a desk, working away with their hands enjoying a Milo ❤️

And that's what these little luggage tags are. 31 tiny pieces of original artwork, made by hand, one day at a time.

Maybe there are a few of you out there who love having something handmade as much as I do. 😊

✨ Art for Art Sake opens today! ✨

Today’s the day! I’m heading into Vinnies later to see all the artworks that have come together for the opening of Art for Art Sake Exhibition.

I’m feeling very grateful to have been invited to be part of this exhibition, and excited to have my little collection of vintage-influenced, Zentangle-inspired pieces there alongside the work of so many talented local artists.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to see what artists here on the Cassowary Coast are creating — and a lovely way to support local art and local artists at the same time. ❤️

Tomorrow’s the day! 🥰

Today I’m heading to Vinnies in Innisfail to set up for Art for Art Sake, which opens tomorrow, 6 October.

I’m feeling a mixture of excited, grateful and slightly amazed that these little pieces I’ve been working away on in my studio are actually heading out into the world. 😊

I’ve created a collection of small, Zentangle-inspired works with a little nod to yesteryear — combining pattern, colour, collage and some of the vintage treasures I love. They’re small enough to tuck away, but hopefully special enough to make someone stop and look a little closer.

And I’m really happy to be part of an exhibition that gives local artists the chance to share what they’ve been creating.

Art for Art Sake runs from 6–17 October at Vinnies in Innisfail, and it’s such a great opportunity to see the work of local artists, discover something you love and support the creative people in our community.

I’m very grateful to have been invited to be involved. ❤️

Now… back to setting up! There may be a little scrambling involved.... just a touch 😂

Well… this one certainly brought some colour to the party! 🌈

I really enjoyed playing with the shapes and layering them up, then adding a few pops of colour to make everything really stand out against the black tag.

And I think this is one of the things I'm going to enjoy most about doing this for 31 days — each new tangle prompt gives me a completely different starting point, and I get to work out how I want to fit it on these little luggage tags.

It’s October 1st… and Inktober 2026 starts today! 🎉
This year I’m taking a slightly different approach to Inktober.

For the next 31 days, I’ll be taking an ordinary black silicone luggage tag and turning it into a little piece of original artwork, inspired by the Inktober Tangle prompt for the day.

One tag.
One day.
One tangle prompt.
31 little tangly adventures.

I've worked with luggage tags before, but I thought it would be fun to give them an Inktober twist this year and see where the daily prompts take me.

And there's a little extra part to this year's project…
Every tag will be available to claim for $15 AUD + postage. ❤️

I've set up a little Inktober 2026 Pop-Up Shop, where you can follow the collection as it grows and find out how to claim one.

Well, the exhibition is getting VERY close now, and I’m officially at the “how many more pieces do I need to finish?” stage. 😂

I’ve been having so much fun playing with a vintage feel for this collection, mixing old-looking ephemera with my tangling and a few rather colourful ideas.

This little tile is one of the results. I’m particularly enjoying seeing how the vintage elements change the feel of the tangling. It’s definitely taking me somewhere I didn’t quite expect.

Meanwhile, back in the studio… I’m madly scrambling to get everything finished. 😳✏️

I wasn't a fan of this one at the time… 😖

This is #MagnifiedFragment B5 with Zentwining as an Enhancer, and unlike the last few weeks, when I've looked back at old tiles and changed my mind… this one?

Nope. 😐😂

BUT…

With these fresh new eyeballs I've apparently acquired 👀, I can finally see why I didn't like it.

Theres's not enough contrast.

I'm a high-contrast kinda gal, and this tile just isn't giving me enough of it. 😁

If I were tangling it again, I'd make the centre Mooka much paler and choose a different colour for the fill behind Hollibaugh.

So there we have it.

I still don't like it....but I understand it better now. 😂

Thank you time.... you are a wonderful thing 💕

Well… here’s another one. 🙄

I’d love to tell you I’ve been creating lots of exciting new work lately, but the reality is that I’m knee-deep in exhibition prep.

So there will probably be a fair bit of this sort of thing appearing here over the next few weeks.

Tags. Tiles. Vintage bits. Tangles. Repeat. 😂

And honestly, I’m pretty happy about that.

I’ve been having a bit of fun with a vintage feel for the collection I’m creating for Art for Art Sake 🗝✨️

I’ve always loved the look of old papers, maps 🗺️, patterns and ephemera, and I wanted to bring a little of that character into this collection. 🙂

This little tile will be available at Art for Art Sake at Vinnies in Innisfail, 6–17 October 🙌 an exhibition I’m really looking forward to!
