So I've been super spurned on by my friend at @tan

So I've been super spurned on by my friend at @tangled.pursuits to join in with the Bijou Be Well Series for 2026 🐌🙂 Thanks for the encouragement Debbie 😘

In times gone by, when I have participated in a series like this, I have opted for a more structured approach with my tile. But this time, I have decided to take a true Zentangle approach.

🧵 I will be using a random string line to guide the placement of each days patterns. I am looking forward to watching this Opus tile grow organically, as the patterns and string lead 🍂

Here are Days 1 to 3 which have focused on tangle patterns Flux, Tipple and Crescent Moon.

So I disappeared from social media for a while… an

So I disappeared from social media for a while… and then returned with fairy lights, isometric grids, and warm Milo's 😄☕🎨

Honestly though, my latest blog post explains why.

The world feels very heavy lately, and I’ve found myself wanting to lean more into beauty, delight, colour, creativity, and all the small things that make life feel joyful.

Instead of adding more noise, I want my social media accounts to feel warm and inviting. I want them to be a place filled with art, tangles, cosy studio moments, inspiration and reminders that beautiful things still matter.

Today's blog post is really just a conversation about that… why beauty matters, why creativity matters, and why I believe creating art is still one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and for others.

Also, I fully believe that Milo should be considered an essential art supply ☕✨

A few nights ago I shared some close-up details from this tile… so it seems only fair I share the whole thing 😄

I think I’ve accepted that blues and browns will always be my favourite colour combo 🤎💙 Blues and browns remind me of the Cassowary Coast coastline — sea and sand, driftwood and sky — all those natural colours that seem to work together so beautifully

This was a very enjoyable tile to spend time on. I hope you find a moment of beauty in there somewhere ✨️

Here is a piece I created for @kath.artique April #colormyworld2026 challenge 💙💖💜💛 I love this idea of a shared colour palette, and an invitation to us all to see where it leads.

I continued exploring this blend of geometrical structure and zentangle inspired pattern 🔷️🔺️ Sitting with these colours and letting the patterns and shapes slowly build, one section at a time, has been bringing me so much joy 😀

I’m really grateful to my artist friend Kath for creating this challenge each month. It’s such a lovely way to share art and provide a small moment of beauty in the middle of everything else that's happening 🙌

💢 Here's another page from my work on Zentangle Project Pack 6 earlier this year.

The journal for this Project Pack came pre-marked with ink spills ✒️ — not as accidents, but as part of the process for us to embrace, right from the very beginning.

This was a project pack that focused on the philosophy of "No Mistakes" - Instead of avoiding the ink spills, the invitation was to work with them 👭 They became part of the overall design.

To me, it was a little reminder that not everything needs to start clean or perfect to become something meaningful ✨️ Sometimes the most interesting parts are already there… Just waiting to be included.

Zooming in again today 🔍

Here's some beautiful layers of tangles sitting quietly over a gel plate print… lots of soft purples and pinks, little touches of gold catching the light. 💖💜🌟

I love how these layers started to speak to each other building a gorgeous colour relationship that we can all adore.

There’s something really special about not knowing

There’s something really special about not knowing where a piece will go… and choosing to trust the process anyway 🤗

This tile came to life at our monthly @yintangles meet up hosted by @yvorein . We used the @enioken Art Raffle App to select our patterns — a true mystery tile.

I worked on an Apprentice-sized tile, pretreated with blue watercolour 💦 and I love how that soft wash quietly holds everything together.

At times it felt challenging, but it was always unrushed… like the piece was revealing itself, pattern by pattern.

And maybe that’s the reminder…
Even in a noisy, busy world, there are still small pockets of beauty waiting for us to notice them — moment by moment 🤍
