Hi and welcome back to another post on the Chrissie Murphy Designs blog. This is a really brief post as I’m sharing some pics from my recent lesson on Crazy Gold Auraknot with Eni Oken’s Art Club. I’ve really relished the opportunity to work with gold again, and I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last used it! Let’s have a look at some pics and see how this tile came together.
2016 was a while ago…
The last time I used my gold pens was during my 100 day lettering project in 2016. A large component of that project focused on illuminated lettering, which is heavy in gold work. If you didn’t see it then, you can check out my illuminated alphabet on Pinterest. I have a board that has all of the project displayed. Just scroll till you find the illuminated letters.
Needless to say, I was pumped to use these pens again. They’re pictured above for you, and can I just say that the Osmer gold pen is divine!! It is absolutely gorgeous and my pic for a gold pen that truly shimmers.
When you can’t find Burgundy Tiles….
The lesson also called for a burgundy/red looking tile and I wasn’t able to find any, so I headed to my newsagent for a sheet of burgundy cardboard. I used my paper trimmer to cut it down to tile sized pieces and I wound up with quite a stash of them. I’m thinking there’ll be some red tile work coming up in the future 😉
To the Crazy Gold Auraknot lesson….
This is Eni’s most recent lesson and it’s available to purchase at any time. Each of Eni’s lessons come with a video tutorial, generally a PDF ebook, and a host of other useful resources. I have a little file on my PC where I save all of her lessons, because they are so handy to have on hand.
I’m won’t be doing a Zentangle Creative Process Mapping post on this tile, as it really follows Eni’s technique. If you want to know more about the technique that was followed, I’d recommend getting the lesson.
My Finished Tile
Here’s a few close up pics of the finished tile. How beautiful is that gold!
