Plan With Me for March

Hi and welcome back to another week on the Chrissie Murphy Designs blog.  It’s Plan With Me time again! Yes, it’s that time of the month where we have a look at the month ahead and make the most of all it brings. So go and grab your planner, your favourite pen and come and Plan With Me for March.

Plan With Me for March 2019

Ok, so we need to begin by plotting out what’s on in March? This month we have St Patrick’s Day on March 17. If you create products to sell for it, this is going to be an important date for you. Can I suggest you factor in product promotion to your planning. It will help you keep track of what you’ve got going on when as the date gets closer. For me though, St Patricks Day is a “meh” kinda day as I don’t have any commitments around it.

Personally speaking, I also have an event coming up from 1 to 3 March that I’m going away for. This will impact my social media scheduling, so I have noted down these dates.

If you have any other dates that will impact the way you manage your time, pencil them in to your planner at this stage.

My Colour theme for March

Now I’m going to be honest here and say I wanted to convey glamour with my colour theme this month. I used lots of golds and blacks, but I fell way short of conveying glamour! You win some and you lose some hey…. so I’m not really sure what theme I’ve ended up with. Let me know what you think it looks like… What colour theme will you be going with this month?

My Vision for March

I have been experiencing quite a bit of change lately and I know more is on the horizon. I’ve found it really challenging, and this month I wanted to remember that through it all, Jesus is the anchor for my soul. He is the one who never changes.

There’s a verse in 1 Peter 1 that says that even though the grass withers and flowers fade, the word of the Lord remains. As change happens all around me, I want to remember that I’m a child of one who never changes. That when I struggle amidst the change, I can take comfort in the one who never changes. So for me, my vision for March, is that by the end of it, I will have recognised Jesus more as the anchor for my soul.

What are your hopes for the month ahead? Is there something you’d really like to focus on for the month? If so, add it as your vision. Get those stickers out, grab your favourite gel pens and start declaring your vision over March.

Adding my Monthly Overview

The Monthly Overview is a new layout I’ve created this month. It’s really just a quick snapshot of my plan for the month ahead. I’ve broken it up into a To Do List, Goals, Details (Tracking) and Important Dates.

On my To Do List (personalised as Sooo Busy!!) is an item called Tangle Variations. You have probably seen some pics of my Tangle Recipe and Guide Book. Well, this month I want to work even more on it. I want to begin studying patterns more intently and explore how many variations (aka tangleations) I can come up with. Then I will store them in my guide book for future reference.

I’m hoping to study one tangle pattern per week and come up with one page worth of variations. This is my aim at this stage, but it will all depend on another change.

So it turns out that in late March, early April I will be moving house. It’s obvious that my goals this month are going to need to be flexible because I will have packing that needs to be done. I will hold on to my goals lightly this month and be prepared to let go of them when other things take higher priority. A Monthly Overview is a guide, it’s your best intentions for the month ahead. So don’t be too bummed if other things crop up and your plan goes out the window. This is life my friend.

Having said that, do you think a Monthly Overview is something you could incorporate into your planning? Having one page that highlights what you’re planning for the month ahead can be helpful. I’d encourage you to consider adopting something like this into your planner.

New Spreads I’ve added this Month

Last month I shared how much I love the idea of long term lists and record keeping….  A long term list is something you create once, and you add to it time and time and time again.

I have really wanted to begin capturing books I’d like to read (and have read, indicated by the coloured squares) as well as movies I’ve watched. So this month I decided to get those spreads underway. I’ll keep adding to them throughout the year.

Is there any long term lists you’d like to create so you can keep a track of things? A Wish List is a good one, so is a Bucket List, what about capturing things you’re grateful for. Have a think and see what sorts of lists you can add to your planner this month.

And that’s it for Plan With Me for March

I’d love to see pictures of the spreads you put together for this month.  Tag your work with #CMDPlanWithMe and I’ll be sure to share your spreads with our community. If you’ve got an idea for a new layout as well, I’d love to hear about it. Leave me a comment down below.
